At IBM Research – Africa, located on the campus of the Catholic University in the Karen- Langata area in Nairobi, one of our goals is to harness this distinctly different group of leaders who will join us and addresses Africa’s grand challenges by delivering commercially-viable innovations that impacts people’s lives. In this regard, we are seeking brilliant minds to apply for our phase 1 (April – July) 2014 Internship Program.

The selected interns will conduct research and development under the guidance of a mentor (research scientist). You will integrate adjacent technologies by designing and developing functional next-generation and locally-relevant mobile and/or web applications for various aspects of Africa’s grand challenges, including Financial Inclusion, Smarter Education, Human Mobility & Public Safety, Public Heath, and Utilities (water, energy, sanitation). You will also have the opportunity to lead/participate in series of Lab studies and experiments to investigate the problems associated with building a good user experience for mobile and
ther portable devices.
