LUPITA SET to FACE OFF with YAYA TOURE for the 2014 MAMA AWARDS!!

Awards Personality of the Year nomination

This is clearly Lupita’s year. With a series of high
profile recognitions and endorsements following
her since she won an Oscar award two months
ago, the Kenyan actress’s profile got new credits
last Friday.


Lupita has been nominated in MTV Africa Music
Awards Personality of the Year category alongside
Nigerian writer Chimamanda Adiche, Nigerian
actress Omotola, Cote d’Ivoire soccer star Yaya
Youre and Trevor Noah, a popular comedian from
South Africa.


The annual continental awards have this year
seen Kenyan stars fall short of glory as only
Sauti Sol and Amani join the long list of African
stars up for the task with Mafikizolo, Uhuru and
Davido leading in the nominations.

The dismal show has been received with
criticism from Kenyan stars with some claiming
biasness in the way the nominations were
picked.
South Africa’s Mafikizolo picked up four
nominations for the awards same as their
country man Uhuru and Nigeria’s Davido.

Also making a big statement in the nominations
were P Square and Mi Casa who got three
nominations.
Sauti Sol have been nominated in the Best
Group category while Amani’s Kiboko Changu
featuring Weasel has been nominated in the
