The rivalry between the two best
smartphone-makers in the U.S. continues.
Samsung recently unveiled its new flagship
smartphone, the Galaxy S5, and it's pretty
awesome.
So awesome, in fact, that it does a lot of
things that Apple's latest iPhone can't do
(and we're not even including the
differences between iOS and Android's OS ).
The Galaxy S5 will launch in the U.S. in
April, but pricing and precise availability
will be up to the wireless carriers.

1. Because Samsung partnered
with PayPal, you can use your
fingerprint to make secure
payments from your phone.
2. You can drop it in water for a
few minutes without it
breaking. We all know what
happens after an iPhone

5S camera only has 8
megapixels). It's also better

models. The iPhone also has a
64GB model, but the S5 has a
microSD memory card slot,
expandable to a whopping

camera is better, too, so your

6. The Galaxy S5 is also the first
phone with live HDR preview,
so you can see what the

7. And you can shoot video in 4K
(that’s four times HD
resolution). You can put your 4K video on a 4K TV.
8. The Galaxy S5 lets you toggle
through different modes if
you're lending it to someone.
Easy Mode simplifies the
interface and Kids Mode
restricts it.
9. A Galaxy S5 can literally
reduce its screen to black and
white to save you battery.
When the phone gets low on
power, it drops into a
monochrome power-saving
mode, which doubles the
remaining battery life.
10. And if your battery starts
sucking, you can remove it,
and replace it with a new
one. Can't do that with an
iPhone.
11. The phone has a built-in
heart rate sensor so you can
easily check your pulse right
from your phone's baked-in
fitness app. (Note: There are
several apps you can
download to use the rear
flash as a monitor on an
iPhone.)

12. You can use the Galaxy S5 as
a remote, because it has an
infrared blaster on the top.
13. The Galaxy S5 has an image
chip that dynamically adjusts
the color and contrast of the
screen based on the light
around you, so you can see it
well in all environments.
