1998 Bomb Blast Survivor Granted Upto Half a Billion Each as Compensation

A survivor of 1998 bomb blast will get Sh652.5 million ($7.5 million) as damages after he contracted HIV while trying to rescue victims of the terrorist attack.
William Maina was digging through the rubble of the US Embassy, that had been blown apart by the terrorist bomb.

He testified before a US court that he was working off-site at the Embassy during the blast and rushed to the site of the bombing to help with the rescue.
It is while helping the victims that he suffered cuts and scratches that exposed him to blood from one of them.
Mr Maina was later diagnosed with the HIV virus that causes Aids. He provided evidence before court proving that he did not contract the disease elsewhere.

“Although he otherwise suffered only minor physical injuries during the recovery efforts, HIV is a chronic, serious and stigmatising disease requiring a lifetime of treatment,” the US Judge John Bates observed in his ruling.
The survivor was awarded the cash alongside his other litigant, Ms Jael Oyoo. Ms Oyoo was pulled out of the rubble by rescuers who thought she was dead.
She suffered burns on her body and an injury to the right eye that severely impaired her vision. She spent two years in hospital.

The two are among other survivors of US Embassy bomb blast who will be compensated after suffering injuries during the attack. However not all victims would get the compensation.
It is only those who worked for the US Embassy together with employees of a construction firm that Mr Maina was working for. The firm had been hired by the embassy for some work.
Those who lost their spouses will get as much as Sh696 million ($8 million) in compensation. Others will pocket Sh609 million ($7 million ).

In his ruling, Mr Bates has awarded Sh435 million ($5 million) each to victims who suffered severe physical injuries such as fractures, soft tissue wounds and scars from shrapnel together with severe psychological trauma.
“Where physical and psychological pain is more severe – such as where victims suffered relatively more numerous and severe injuries and partially lost their vision and hearing or were mistaken for the dead – courts have awarded upwards of $7 million (approximately Sh609 million) and above,” Mr Bates says in a ruling in a case filed by Milly Mikali and others.
They had sued the Republic of Sudan for the terrorists attack.

Giving a breakdown, the judge ruled that where victims suffered emotional injury accompanied by minor physical injuries be paid between Sh130 million to Sh261 million.
But those who endured pain for several hours would receive damages ranging from Sh87 million.
If the victim’s period of pain is less, the victim would receive less money.
For instance those who suffered pain for 10 minutes would only receive Sh43 million, Mr Bates clarified.
Victims who lost their parents in the attack will get Sh435 million while those who lost their siblings are to receive Sh217 million.

Families of injured victims were not left out.
A spouse will carry home Sh348 million for the damages a wife or husband suffered   while a parent is set to get Sh217 million for his or her injured child.
Loss of a brother or sister in the attack entitles one to Sh108 million.
Different courts in the District of Colombia however differed on the proper award a child is supposed to get for an injured parent.

One court awarded such a child Sh217 million while another one settled for Sh108 million. But the children whose parents died in the attack got Sh609 million.

Chinese Billionaire Jack Ma: The “Dos and Don’ts”of Being an Entrepreneur

If you don’t know who Jack Ma is, you should. Regarded as one of the first Chinese internet entrepreneurs, Jack Ma started in 1995 with China Yellowpages before founding what is now Alibaba Group, a highly successful internet-based holding company that earned Ma a spot on the world’s billionaires list. Most recently, Ma was the first mainland Chinese entrepreneur to ever appear on the cover of Forbes in 2011 and was named the Financial Times’ 2013 Person of the Year where he was referred to as the “godfather of China’s scrappy entrepreneurial spirit.”
In a post that was originally published and translated from Chinese, Jack Ma shared some business and life wisdom that we could all learn from including the biggest issues younger generations have to face in business and the “dos and don’ts” of entrepreneurship. We can all learn a thing or two from a successful billionaire entrepreneur.
Jack Ma talks about the mistake he regrets the most.
“In 2001, I made a mistake. I told 18 of my fellow comrades whom embarked on the entrepreneurship journey with me that the highest positions they could go was a managerial role. To fill all our Vice President and Senior Executive positions, we would have to hire from external parties. Years later, those I hired were gone, but those whom I doubted their abilities became Vice Presidents or Directors. I believe in two principles: Your attitude is more important than your capabilities. Similarly, your decision is more important than your capabilities!”
Jack Ma on how to bring your company’s employees together.
“You cannot unify everyone’s thoughts, but you can unify everyone through a common goal.
1. Don’t even trust that you are able to unify what everyone is thinking; it is impossible.
2. 30% of all people will never believe you. Do not allow your colleagues and employees to work for you. Instead, let them work for a common goal.
3. It is a lot easier to unite the company under a common goal rather than uniting the company around a particular person.”
Jack Ma’s answer for “What does a leader have that an employee doesn’t?”
“A leader should never compare his technical skills with his employee’s. Your employee should have superior technical skills than you. If he doesn’t, it means you have hired the wrong person. What, then, makes the leader stands out?
1. A leader should be a visionary and have more foresight than an employee.
2. A leader should have higher grit and tenacity, and be able to endure what the employees can’t.
3. A leader should have higher endurance and ability to accept and embrace failure.
The quality of a good leader therefore is his vision, tenacity, and his capability.”
Jack Ma on why you should never mix politics with business.
“Don’t be involved in politics.
1. One should always understand that money and political power can never go hand in hand. Once you are in politics, don’t ever think about money anymore. Once you are running a business, don’t ever think of being involved in politics.
2. When money meets political power, it is similar to a match meeting an explosive- waiting to go off.”
Jack Ma on the four main questions the younger generations have to ask themselves.
“What is failure? Giving up is the greatest failure.
1. What is resilience: Once you have been through hardships, grievances and disappointments, only then will you understand what is resilience.
2.What your duties are: To be more diligent, hardworking, and ambitious than others.
3. Only fools use their mouth to speak. A smart man uses his brain, and a wise man uses his heart.”
Jack Ma: “We are born to live and experience life.”
“I always tell myself that we are born here not to work, but to enjoy life. We are here to make things better for one another, and not to work. If you are spending your whole life working, you will certainly regret it.
No matter how successful you are in your career, you must always remember that we are here to live. If you keep yourself busy working, you will surely regret it.”
Jack Ma on competing and competition.
“1. Those that compete aggressively with one another are the foolish ones.
2. If you view everyone as your enemies, everyone around you will be your enemies.
3. When you are competing with one another, don’t bring hatred along. Hatred will take you down.
4. Competition is similar to playing a board of chess. If you lose, we can always have another round. Both players should never fight.
5. A real businessman or entrepreneur has no enemies. Once he understand this, the sky’s the limit.”
Jack Ma: “Don’t make complaining and whining a habit.”
“If you complain or whine once in a while, it is not a big deal. However, if it becomes habitual, it will be similar to drinking: the more you drink, the stronger the thirst. On the path to success, you will notice that the successful ones are not whiners, nor do they complain often.
The world will not remember what you say, but it will certainly not forget what you have done.”
Jack Ma’s seven points of wisdom for entrepreneurs.
  1. The opportunities that everyone cannot see are the real opportunities.
  2. Always let your employees come to work with a smile.
  3. Customers should be number 1, Employees number 2, and then only your Shareholders come at number 3.
  4. Adopt and change before any major trends or changes.
  5. Forget the money; Forget about earning money.
  6. Rather than having small smart tricks to get by, focus on holding on and persevering.
  7. Your attitude determines your altitude.
Jack Ma on advice you should remember for life.
“1. A great opportunity is often hard to be explained clearly; things that can be explained clearly are often not the best opportunities.
2.You should find someone who has complementary skills to start a company with. You shouldn’t necessarily look for someone successful. Find the right people, not the best people
3. The most unreliable thing in this world is human relationships
4. “Free” is the most expensive word.
5. Today is cruel, tomorrow will be worse, but the day after tomorrow will be beautiful.”
Jack Ma on the three “don’ts” of entrepreneurship.
“1. The scariest things about starting up is the inability to see, to be snobbish, to be unable to understand what is going on, as well as to be unable to keep up with pace.
2. If you do not know where your competitor is, or overconfident and snobbish about your competitor, or are unable to comprehend how your competitor became a real threat, you will surely fall behind him. Don’t be the “they” in this idiom: First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
3. Even if your competitor is still small in size or weak, you should take him seriously and treat him as a giant. Likewise, even if your competitor is massive in size, you shouldn’t regard yourself as a weakling.”
Jack Ma on starting your own company.
“What starting your company means: you will lose your stable income, your right to apply for a leave of absence, and your right to get a bonus.
However, it also means your income will no longer be limited, you will use your time more effectively, and you will no longer need to beg for favours from people anymore.
If you have a different mindset, you will have a different outcome: if you make different choices from your peers, your life will then be different from your peers.”
Jack Ma on when you should take opportunities.
“If there are over 90% of the crowd saying “Yes” to approving a proposal, I will surely dispose the proposal into the bin. The reason is simple: if there are so many people who thinks that the proposal is good, surely there will be many people who would have been working on it, and the opportunity no longer belongs to us.”

Why Having Only ONE Orgasm a Month Leads to Success

What if the key to success was in only having one orgasm a month? Would you do it?
There is a way to increase productivity for guys but it means no porn, masturbation, or orgasms. It sounds completely ridiculous. I didn’t even want to believe it at first, but considering the benefits and some of the guys who advocate this idea, you may want to seriously consider at least trying this.

Tim Ferriss, entrepreneur, investor, and author of the “The 4-Hour Work Week,” on his blog calls it NOBNOM (No Booze, No Masturbation). Admittedly, he says of his 30 days without porn/masturbation that, “the acronym itself sounds pornographic. We gotta make this sumnabitch memorable.”

Biohacker and the Bulletproof Executive Dave Asprey also vouches for the whole one orgasm per month. Dave explained in an interview that, “Now that I’ve measured the data, including the 30-day data, this is amazing but I’m happier going 30 days without having orgasm than I am having orgasm every 3 days. I have more energy and I am happier.”
To be clear, it doesn’t mean no sex, you just can’t orgasm or ejaculate. If that all sounds too crazy, here are just some of the benefits you get from abstaining from your hedonistic ways.

1. Increased aggression. If you haven’t connected the dots, no orgasms (ejaculation) raises the level of testosterone in your system, and if you’ve never been to a high school locker room before, testosterone amps up aggression like crazy.
Dave Asprey detailed on his blog a neuro-test with mice involving aggression and sex. It was found that sex is the only act that stimulated aggression had no affect on- for everything else, the mice were enraged.
In short, sex suppresses aggression and no sex increases aggression. Why is this a good thing? Channeled correctly, this leads to increased focus and performance. Why do you think boxers and other pro athletes are told no sex before competitions? Or executives before big meetings? It keeps you angry and concentrated.

2. Increased Motivation. This one is almost a no brainer. For guys, the drive for sex will motivate them to do anything. Personal success author Napoleon Hill dedicated a whole chapter in his book Think and Grow Rich to transforming that drive for sex into productivity- and this was 1938.
Dave Asprey also shared a story on his blog of the time a New York Times bestselling author made a deal with his wife that he would not ejaculate until he had made $250,000, which was a lot of money to him at the time. It only took him 30 days to make that amount of money.

3. Increased Productivity. On his blog, Tim Ferriss swears by how abstaining from masturbation, porn, and ejaculating increases your productivity.
“You get more done! A LOT more done. In my mind, this alone easily justifies a 30-day booze and porn fast. You’ll clear off that goddamn to-do list faster than Speedy Gonzalez. And remember: sex is still allowed.”
Remember, this guy speaks and tells people how to live their lives to be successful. He’s also an advisor to companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Uber, so everything he says shouldn’t be taken lightly no matter how crazy it sounds.
Isaac Newton allegedly remained celibate his entire life- he was the first to explain gravity and invented calculus. Even super genius Nikola Tesla allegedly stayed a virgin his entire life to dedicate his time and his brain to creating amazing things in the name of science.
Added benefits…
Based off historical texts and the personal experience from many like Dave Asprey, this orgasm diet also has a slew of other benefits for you.
      • Taoists recommend frequent sex but no ejaculation as the key to living forever- and having amazing sex.
      • Increasing the amount of testosterone in your system also changes up the pheremones you emit- you might notice that your partner, or other women, become more attracted to you. It’s a chemical thing.
      • Working off the same Taoist practices with the help of some yoga, having only one orgasm a month is the first step to being able to achieve a 30 minute orgasm for guys. Again, not sex for 30 minutes, I’m talking about having one insane half-hour orgasm.

    • With the help of some Taoist exercises and about a months time, the orgasm diet is also a key to increasing penis size the natural way- it apparently really exists.
It’s the exact opposite for women.
Women actually benefit most the more orgasms they have, while guys benefit most the less orgasms they have. Not only does it stimulate and nourish the body, but it also increases a woman’s emotional intelligence (EQ) the more frequently they have orgasms. Basically, everybody wins.

Jay Z & Beyoncé Staged Elevator Attack and Divorce Rumors to Sell 'On The Run Tour' Tickets!!

Billboard published an article yesterday titled 'Jay Z, Beyonce and the Rumor Mill: Who's Pulling the Strings?' and they spoke with some experts who feel that not only is the divorce rumours all BS, that Jay Z didn't cheat on Beyonce. They also suspect that the elevator beat down with Solange was all staged...all in time for their first joint tour. They say the power couple wanted to be in the tabloids like never before...to sell concert tickets. And they've sold $100m in tickets, making $5.2m per night!

I don't know if I buy this story but read for yourself and see if it makes sense to you.
Celebrity publicist Jonathan Hay -- who's worked with clients from Sony to Wiz Khalifa and provides PR crisis management -- spoke to Billboard in an interview and speculated this entire affair is just carefully orchestrated tour promotion.
"Always consider the timing in these situations," Hay says. "That staged elevator fight hit the news immediately before the release of their On The Run tour trailer video. The fight gives regular news stations -- beyond just entertainment news -- a headline, which broadens their audience. They're also going to bring up the On The Run tour and ask questions like, 'Will their be drama on the road?' and, 'Is this going to be the final performances of Jay Z and Beyonce?' They created a compelling spectacle, which ultimately creates a demand."
Hay, incidentally, knows a thing or two about creating a compelling spectacle. He openly takes credit for planting those false Jay Z/Rihanna romance rumors back in 2005 to promote her debut single "Pon de Replay." Obviously, that stunt worked a little.
Similarly, Hay scoffed at the veracity of the stories swirling around the tour. "I saw the report about their lawyers now being on the road with them. Of course there are lawyers on the road with them! They are generating millions of dollars a night," he says (the tour's take is about $5.2 million per show, in fact). "They have an infrastructure. Jay Z is a brilliant businessman. His affairs are in order, no pun intended. Jay Z and Beyonce are not getting divorced. Jay Z did not cheat on Beyonce. It's all theater."

Why Men Claim to Want low Maintenance Women, but Drool and Lust Over The High Maintenance ones!

Low maintenance is a term, believe it or not, once only associated with a mechanics garage. Cars that barely need tuneups, require little for spare parts and run for years without engine replacements are considered “low maintenance.”
They are the ideal car for the new buyer, the old seller and the guy who is just trying to keep his expenses down and get from place to place.

High maintenance cars are many times warned against, as they are expensive to upkeep, their parts must be imported, and the mileage is never worth the price of gas.
They are a depreciating asset from the moment you drive them off the lot, their presence only causing you stress and anxiety at every road bump and pot hole. But hell, they look damn good.
And they should. All the money spent on their exterior, the imported parts and unnecessary frills have the ability to attract even the most sensible of buyers.

They give so many men what they are longing for: validation. Their emblem, their name, their imported Italian leather seats.
Within months of driving, however, the smooth ride is no longer admired, the glossy exterior no longer delighted in and the frills and gadgets no longer marveled at. Like with most things, most drivers begin wanting something more, something new.
Now that it’s maintenance is higher than your mortgage, all you can worry about is the fading paint, the rising price of oil and how much it’s going to cost you to repair that scratch.
Parking spots become graveyards and long drives become dreaded, as you begin to wonder why you cared so much about this car to begin with.

Let me say this, women aren’t cars. They’re not objects; they’re not things to be bought and sold, by men or anyone else.
Yet the dichotomy that once defined the motor industry, seems to prove analogous to relationships that require too much upkeep and never win out at the end.

So why, may I ask, if men are so obsessed with idea of the low maintenance girl, are they marrying all the high maintenance ones?
Why are they going for Bentleys and Porsches when they can’t afford them and know that a Ford will run the way they need it and get them where they need to go without all the extra costs?
Low maintenance women, like the classic American cars people say they miss, are still around. They are sturdy, dependable and have only gotten better over time. They are there for you in the good, bad and when you’re all but just about broke.

However, no one is buying them. Everyone is distracted with the flashy ads on the billboards and hot models in front of shiny metal grills, not realizing these extra cup holders and heated seats are never going to bring them that happiness they are so desperately seeking.
Unfortunately, in the capitalist society we thrive in, sometimes the best products get lost in the frenzy of commercialization. The basic products that do the job better than the ones with all the frills and added costs are drowned beneath a layer of neon paint and pretty packaging.

Like expensive cars, low maintenance women just can’t compete. Or rather, they don’t care enough to compete. They know who they are, they are comfortable with themselves and they refuse to go chasing buyers and sellers. They stay on the road, in their lane, happy to be moving along.
They won’t give in to the fads or trends. Won’t slip into tight dresses and heels to try to look like the models selling the Porsches.
They won’t spend nights in the clubs or on yachts. They aren’t looking for men to empty their pockets and invest in their drama. They are out there being real, being chill and, unfortunately, being left all alone.

Flashy gadgets always distract from wholesome values

A big rack will always distract from a winning personality… at least in the beginning. While we’d all like to believe that personality is what keeps a man, it’s the frills, shiny coats of paint and large engines that initially attract them.
If women were like cars, a low maintenance woman would be one with a solid engine and good gas mileage, while the high maintenance would be the inappropriate Hummer or Escalade that requires two parking spaces, incessant gas trips and disapproving stares from your eco-friendly neighbors.
Unfortunately, it’s too late when the buyer finally realizes that he’s just bought a car that’s only going to cause him more than he can afford and the low maintenance ones are left on the lot.

People associate price with quality

For years, people have assumed that expensive cars were good cars. While many times they
would be right, they are forgetting about all those mid-range cars that run just as well and last you just as long.
Just because a Bentley costs a couple hundred thousand doesn’t mean it’s the right car for you. Just because it has a good name and popular reputation doesn’t mean it’s going to bring you happiness.
High maintenance women, like Bentleys and Aston Martins, aren’t always worth their price. Sometimes the nagging, complaining and demanding isn’t worth the status that comes with owning such an expensive car.
It’s usually only after you’ve realized how much money you’re continually spending that you understand that price doesn’t always ensure quality.

You can’t get down and dirty with a Bentley

Expensive cars, like high maintenance women, are nice to show off and look at, but it rarely goes deeper than that.
You’re so busy taking care of them that you can never do the things you really want to do with them. You can’t take them spontaneously off-roading or across unpaved terrain. You can’t get them dirty.
Low maintenance women are the ones who can take more than a few potholes. They don’t cry when their hair gets messed up or freak out because it’s raining. They don’t need 40 minutes to get ready for a 20 minute car ride or require heated seats in the winter.
They are sturdy, dependable and always able to take a few bumps in the road. They are the women who will be there in 20 years, 30 years, still running smoothly.

19 Of The Best Reasons Why You Should Definately Date An Engineer

Remember that nerdy, smart kid in your classes in junior high and high school? He was kind of
shy, on the honor roll and was afraid of approaching girls? Well, ladies, he has now graduated from college, earns a great salary, will
treat you well and makes the absolute perfect boyfriend.

Not only is he intelligent, but he is intuitively rational, organized, detail oriented and sometimes a perfectionist, in the best way
possible. The ones I have met are the least douchey guys I have ever known.

Check out the reasons why if you meet one, you need to date him and keep him. If you meet a
guy who is not an engineer but has these characteristics as well, don’t be a fool, he’s a keeper, too.

1. He is incredibly rational. When you get in a fight with your best friend, he will listen and analyze the situation with you. He will provide his honest opinion about how he can either see both sides or how one of you is wrong. You have to be able to handle the truth.

2. If you two get into an argument and can legitimately prove that you are right, he will admit when he is wrong. Sometimes this
backfires if you are the one who is wrong.

3. He doesn’t know how hot he is because he still has a lingering nerd complex from middle school and high school from before he grew into himself.

4. He has the right kind of confidence. He learned that being a genuine, smart, good guy
attracted girls. He isn’t arrogant about picking up women.

5. They know how to fix things… like everything. He’s like your own personal handyman. Never
knew how a washing machine worked? He will explain it in layman’s terms and teach you.

6. He is an intuitive problem-solver. You will never have to hire anyone to do anything. He can read a book and instantly figure out how something works.

7. If your toilet is running and you have done all you can to fix it, he will understand fluid mechanics and will fix it for you so you don’t
have to call your landlord or a plumber.

8. When your shower drain is clogged with what is probably hair, he knows what chemicals to use
and how to clear it.

9. When you move into your new place, he willbdigitally diagram your floor plan and measure
the dimensions of your furniture to make sure everything fits properly.

10. When you get over ambitious about that DIY headboard from Pinterest, he will remind you
that you shouldn’t impulsively buy extra materials, but have to preplan and measure before you buy out all of Home Depot.

11. When he plans romantic vacations for you two, he will make an excel spreadsheet beforehand, to compare and contrast the best
hotels and car rental deals.

12. He is well versed in statistics and probability. When planning a getaway, he will know the best time to buy tickets on orbitz.com.

13. He can teach you to play blackjack using statistics so you can actually win when you go to Las Vegas.

14. When going on trip with a group of people, he knows how to “use the space allotted in the
most efficient way.” That means if you have eight people all trying to go to Lake Tahoe, he will make everyone’s luggage, snowboards,
alcohol, and food fit into the trunk of a suburban.

15. When you want to hang pictures in your living room in a certain creative manner; he will
help you systematically diagram and measure the wall to hang the pictures so they are spaced
perfectly and evenly apart.

16. He can help you code your blog to make it look extra cute or surprise you on your anniversary by making a video montage of your
relationship.

17. He needs to have a plan. He isn’t afraid to do research before making any major purchase.
When you want to buy that Tory Burch purse, he will remind you that SlickDeals.com will probably have a 25% coupon coming up soon
and you should wait to save your money.

18. He is a perfectionist and wont give up until accomplishing his goal. When it comes to his work, there is very little room for error. Some are anal about dressing well and achieving the perfect matching shirt, tie, sock combo, while others are perfectionists sexually. One friend said she knows for a fact that her boyfriend has read books and studied diagrams. Engineered
pleasure.

19. When you finally move in together, the dishwasher needs to be loaded systematically to use space most efficiently and to not waste water.

Asian Having Eyelid Surgery to Have Bigger Eyes

New York Magazine's Maureen O’Connor recently delved into the world of ethnic plastic surgery in a piece titled “Is Race Plastic? My Trip Into the ‘Ethnic Plastic
Surgery’ Minefield”.

She spoke with plastic surgeons and the people they’ve operated on about the different “ethnic” features coveted in plastic surgery. One of the more common surgeries she wrote about was double
blepharoplasty, often called "Asian eyelid surgery," and its intense racial implications.

The procedure received a lot of attention last year when Chinese-American talk-show host Julie Chen admitted on CBS’ “The Talk” that she had had the procedure done
back in the ‘90s after her former news director because of her "Asian eyes," he had "noticed that when you're on camera, when you're interviewing someone you look disinterested and bored because your eyes are so heavy, they are so small.”

Even before then, CNN , Reuters , and other publications had done exposés on the procedure, and media outlets had covered
everything from eyelid tape or glue (which creates a temporary crease in the eyelid) to eyelid trainers (which claim to make a permanent crease in the eyelid).

But the vast majority of people who get this procedure aren’t trying to fit a Western ideal at all, but an Asian ideal.
They’re not interested in having Caucasian- shaped double eyelids — they want a more open, more alert-looking eyes with a subtle
crease that has always been appealing in their own culture.
Not only are the desired shapes
fundamentally different, but so is the surgery itself.

According to the Asian Plastic Surgery Guide , Asian eyelid
procedures don’t suck out fat (or as much fat) as cosmetic eye procedures on Caucasians, which are commonly done on older individuals whose eyelids have
become droopy due to age.

Asian eyelid surgery, on the other hand, is often performed on younger individuals to simply create a subtle crease — sometimes with just a few carefully placed stitches — that makes the eyes appear larger.

Under the umbrella of “Asian eyelid surgery,” there are a few different techniques. One of the most common is the suture technique, which costs less and has
a quicker healing time. It takes less than an hour for a doctor to place a few well- aimed stitches that compress the eyelid into the ideal shape. The downside is that
it's a less-permanent option, and patients may have to get the procedure done again.

There’s also the incisional technique, which is more customizable, but more expensive
method with a longer recovery time. In this type of surgery excess skin or fat is cut from fuller eyelids, which makes the results permanent.

34. Making the bed: must-do or waste of time because you're just going to get back in it?

35. Is it OK to shave/clip toenails in the living room?

See? So many issues, so little time to get them straightened out before you're grumbling about

Why Asian girls fall for African men

Timothy Khamala 25 and and Sarika Patel 24, two lovebirds in a remote village in western Kenya are not the first lovers of African and Asian ancestry to get intimately and romantically involved. In 2007, Clement Olunga and Hapreet Syan hit the headlines when they defied stigma and openly declared their love for each other.

The racial and cultural divide between Kenyan Asians and Africans is so blunt that those who dare sharpen it with love brewed in an African pot via marriage face hostility and isolation. Kisumu East Member of Parliament Shakeel Shabbir is a Dholuo-speaking Asian married to a Luhya. He reckons there are many sexually frustrated Indian women in Kisumu. “This is because their fathers have locked them in the house and they don’t interact with men,” says Shabbir, adding that this prompts Indian girls to turn to their drivers, houseboys or gardeners to satisfy their sexual desires. “I have seen a lot of that happen in Kisumu. The girl then gets pregnant and her parents force her to abort. Some are even forced to lie that they are raped by the houseboys. I think Kenyans should open their eyes and think out of the box.”

The former Mayor of Kisumu adds that the main reason why many Asian girls don’t marry African men is due to lack of exposure. And though everybody is afraid of the unknown, Shabbir explains that, “Most Indian girls lead a sheltered life. They rarely interact with people outside their families. If they had a chance to hang around African men, I am sure many Indian girls would happily marry Bukusu, a Luo or Kikuyu men.”

I grew up amongst them, eating their food, learning their language and visiting their ‘ushago’. And my upbringing made me open my eyes and even date and marry a local girl. If all Indians had such upbringing, they would readily intermarry with other Kenyan tribes,” says Shabbir. He says he does not regret marrying outside the Asian community: “I have never been happier in my life; the last eight years have been pure bliss. I have come to learn so much and appreciate the African culture and my wife has also come to appreciate my culture.”

He however says that stereotyping is also to blame for the reluctance of some Africans to marry Indians. “Some Africans say that Indians go home at lunchtime to have sex. It is not true! Indians go home to eat their wives’ food. In Indian culture, eating your wife’s food is a very important gesture. Some Africans says Indians are hairy and fart a lot. Some Indians also believe such nonsense about Africans, and that hampers inter-racial marriages,” says Shabbir. Gopal, an outgoing Asian man says Indian men have no qualms about dating and even marrying African women. “It’s our parents who have issues. It’s like all old-school parents who want their children to be doctors and engineers, not DJs. So our parents also don’t want our sisters to associate with African men, not because they hate them, but because they don’t understand the African culture.”

But would he let this writer marry his sister? He squirms. “I might allow my daughters to marry an African man, but not my sisters,” he justifies this by saying that his sisters have led a sheltered life and the contrast between the Asian and African lifestyles is so sharp, they might not adapt. “If they were exposed at an early age, it would be fine to marry an African man. My 23-year elder sister has lived a sheltered life. She just can’t simply turn her life around,” says Gopal, who however, insists, he will marry an African woman since “We men can easily adapt. In all cultures, the woman’s role is pretty much the same.” Kenyan Asians are hard working with a nose for business. Here and elsewhere, they’re the bearings that wheel national economies. Their wealth is one reason Kenyans believe they (Asians) frown on intermarrying Africans.

“I don’t think it’s an issue of money. Asians just aren’t exposed to African culture and they don’t want to go for the unknown. In Indian culture, marriage is also a strategic alliance, especially when it comes to business. You don’t just marry someone who can’t add value to your family. When I married my wife, who is a Meru, I even lost business, says Sudhir, a businessman. “Some Asian businessmen stopped working with me. I was no longer invited to people’s houses and my children were shunned.” Sudhir has been married for 14 years and his family has come to accept his wife. “I lost some friends completely, but I am sure that in another 10 years, Indians will be intermarrying with Africans freely.”

This Nigerian Artist Thought Nairobi Was a Place Where Elephants, giraffes, zebras Freely Roamed the Streets

Olamide Adedeji,a nigerian musician,is in the country courtesy of Coke Studio.
However the obviously naive singer couldnt avoid making a fool of himself when asked what he thought about kenya.

"I had never visited Nairobi before. In fact, before leaving Lagos to come here, I didn't bother to get any background information on Kenya. I had already formed my own impression of the country in my head. I had this fantastic imagination that Nairobi was a place where elephants, giraffes, zebras and other wild animals freely roamed the streets. I envisioned a place with Maasais jumping up and down, and killing lions with their bare hands. Besides, isn't Kenya known much for its wildlife? Isn't that what the country is marketed for? You can't entirely blame me and other people who think likewise."

That said, I am quite impressed by what I have seen so far since I landed here on June 22. I have never met friendlier people. The hospitality is top notch. Before my visit, I happened to listen to dancehall musician Wyre, and I am looking forward to enjoying more of his music while in the country.

7 Reasons Younger Women Should Date Older Men

Here are seven reasons younger women should date older men:

1. They’re less judgmental.

They’ve gone through college, lived the life of a party boy and have probably taken multiple trips to Vegas that are not to be spoken of, so they understand when you need a weekend to unwind and let loose with the girls.
It’s nearly impossible to shock them because if they haven’t done something stupid themselves, they’ve definitely had a friend of a friend who’s done something even more insane.
They understand that at 25, you’re still learning, growing and becoming the woman you aspire to be.
They’re more willing to accept your flaws because they know that in time, you’ll outgrow it.

2. They live in an environment conducive for a relationship to succeed.

While younger men have roommates in rented apartments, older men may own their own homes. They are established homeowners who are living in a place that is welcoming to a partner.
A house is meant to be lived in for extended periods of time and make memories. It shows that he’s not afraid of commitment and has made an investment in his future.

3. They have the means to take care of you.

I’m in no way saying that a woman shouldn’t be able to take care of herself; it’s that older men are most likely more financially stable than younger men, and therefore can offer you additional things those younger men can’t.
By age 30, he probably has a solid career path and established goals. If he’s serious husband material, he probably owns his own place, car and if you hit the jackpot, his own boat.
Sure, money doesn’t buy happiness, but it makes life a hell of a lot easier.

4. They’re experienced in love.

Being five to 10 years older than you, these men have an extensive understanding of how relationships are built and broken.
They’ve probably made mistakes as boyfriends and subsequently learned and become better partners because of it.
They’ve more than likely also been hurt by others, and had relationships fail. So when you act like a raging psycho for no good reason, they won’t return the favor, but rather, give you time to cool down then talk to you rationally. Again, they understand women.

5. They have old-fashioned values.

It’s the little things that get women to fall in love: opening the door, telling her she’s beautiful, showing up with flowers for no reason at all.
Dating has become so casual that hookups are the norm and dates are just a means to an end — that end being getting laid.
Men who were raised with old-fashioned values understand your need to get to know someone before becoming intimate.
When YOU become someone’s long-term goal, he’s willing to work for you, respect you as a woman and build the foundation for a solid relationship.

6. They know what they want.

They know what they like and they know what they hate. They won’t waste their time with women who don’t fit their criteria, and they’re much more forward when letting you know what they want from a relationship.
Once you eliminate mind games, it’s amazing how easy, enjoyable and successful a relationship can be.

7. They’re selfless lovers.

These men know how to please a woman and they aren’t shy to show off their skills. Sex isn’t just a solution to carnal urges and selfish satisfaction.
Sex is a way to bond physically through mutual pleasure. If you’ve been with an older man, you know: A well-placed thumb can do wonders, and it’s always, always, ladies first.

14 Things That Happened To You In Your Childhood and How They Have Shaped You As An Adult

Tons of research shows that our adult behavior stems from what we experienced as kids.
If you're extremely sneaky or suffer from obesity, it's probably an issue you can trace back to your younger days.
To help you make connections between now and then, we've compiled 14 childhood experiences that shaped who you are today.
Vivian Giang contributed research to this story.

If your parents didn't let you make decisions, you might be codependent as an adult

If you had a helicopter parent who didn't allow you to dress yourself or choose your own playmates and food, you may end up as a codependent adult, says mental health counselor Laura JJ Dessauer.
As you get older, this means that you'll seek out relationships in which your partner has all the power and control.

If you were close with your dad, you can handle intimacy now.

If you had an emotional connection with your father as a child, you'll be able to enter a healthy, physically intimate relationship with a partner later in life.
"The research found a definitive connection between the quality of the father-child relationship and interpersonal relationships later in life," said lead researcher Dr. Nurit Nahmani.

If your parents were super controlling, you might be a stubborn adult

Stubbornness is a defense mechanism that children adopt to escape the will of their controlling parents. The children will also likely grow up to inherit this trait.

If you were allowed to watch TV as a baby, you may have suppressed communication skills.

After observing mothers and children in a study, researchers found that TV reduces parent-child communication. Even when there was speaking involved, the parents' comments were typically unrelated to what their children said.
The result is that it created an "unproductive exchange that could hinder children's opportunity for learning," the authors said.

If you watched lots of violent TV, you're more likely to be an aggressive grown-up

According to a 15-year study, children model their behaviors after violent scenes where the perpetrators are rewarded for violence. For example, if a child watches a detective who's rewarded for bringing a murderer to justice after a violent clash, it will result in more pushing, grabbing, and shoving from the child — even after he or she has grown up.

If you copycat your parents, you'll be more open-minded as an adult.

If you copied everything your parents did even if it didn't make sense, you developed a willingness to assume that actions have some "unknown" purpose. This will make you more open to sharing and transmitting culture later on in life.
This is universally a human activity — chimpanzees are shown to only imitate actions if they're practical. "It's something that we know that other primates don’t do," said psychologist Mark Nielsen, of the University of Queensland in Australia.

If you were spanked as a kid, you may be a sneaky adult.

In the book "Drive," author Daniel Pink explains that trying to influence a child's behavior by offering rewards or punishment does not actually result in the desired behavior.
Instead, children will only work harder to avoid getting caught the next time.
The conclusion is if you were spanked often as a child, you'll most likely resort to misbehaving even more, but you'll learn how to do it without getting caught.
Eventually, you'll become a very sneaky adult.

If you had druggy parents, you'll likely be a super serious adult.

If you grew up witnessing your parents abusing drugs or alcohol, you probably ended up being the parent to your parents.
Because you skipped childhood altogether, you become super serious and won't know how to have fun as an adult. You also tend to be overly responsible, says Portland Lifestyle Counseling.

If you were traumatized as a kid, you may be obese as an adult.

Several studies have shown a correlation between sexual abuse — and other traumatic childhood experiences — and eating disorders.
For women, a 2007 study showed that childhood sexual abuse raised the risk of obesity by 27% compared with women who were never sexually abused.
For men, a 2009 study showed that experiencing sexual abuse as a child raised the risk of obesity by 66% compared with males who never experienced sexual abuse.

If you experienced maltreatment as a child, you're twice as likely to be depressed now.

A King's College London study of 26,000 people found that if you experienced various forms of maltreatment, you're 2.27 times more likely to have recurrent episodes of depression.
The maltreatments, as per the Guardian's report:
• rejecting interaction from a mother
• harsh discipline reported by a parent
• unstable primary caregiver arrangement throughout childhood
• self-reports of harsh physical or sexual maltreatment
That must play in a role in the startling facts about depression in the world.

If you were abused as a kid, your memory and emotional control will suffer as an adult.

There's more harsh news for people with tough childhoods. Neuroscientific research shows that people who experienced childhood abuse have worse memories and less control over their emotions.

If you were bullied as a kid, you'll be less functional as an adult.

A study that tracked 7,771 British children from when they were 7 to 50 years old found that people who were bullied as kids had worse relationships, increased depression, higher anxiety, lower educational attainment, and lower earnings.

If you grew up poor, you'll have a lesser "working memory."

People who grow up in lower socioeconomic classes end up with a lower working memory — or ability to hold multiple objects in their minds — in adulthood, suggests a University of Oregon study.

If your parents divorced when you were super young, you'll have poor relationships with them in adulthood.

If your parents split up when you were between 3 and 5 years old, you'll probably have an insecure relationship with them when you're an adult, especially in the case of fathers, according to a University of Illinois study. However, that divorce incidence doesn't predict insecure romantic relationships.

When Booty implants Go Wrong. Video Vixen Twerks at the Beach and Its Frightening to Watch

I’m not against fixing things that you dislike about yourself, there has to be some lines drawn when it goes too far. Her legs are disproportionate with the rest of her body, and in my opinion, her added ‘stacks’ makes her look a little deformed.
